PaperNest is a unified journal and conference management platform built for India's AI research community. It brings together two distinct products — TRAIN for peer-reviewed journal publishing and BRAINCON for conference management — under one platform, both free to access, with no data lockouts and no paywalls. Find a ConferenceOrigin Story
India's AI research community has grown enormously over the past decade — but the tools available to manage journals and conferences have not kept pace. The platforms researchers have relied on were built for a different era: complex to navigate, slow to adapt, and designed around institutional access rather than individual researchers.
We experienced these limitations firsthand while organising conferences for the BRAIN Foundation. Reviewer assignments required hours of manual coordination. Decision communications were rigid and impersonal. Moving data between systems was unnecessarily hard — and there was always the nagging concern that our own conference data wasn't truly ours to control.
The BRAIN Foundation's mission is to support AI research across India. We decided the most impactful thing we could build was a platform designed specifically for this community — one that treats data ownership as a right, not a premium feature; that gives Program Chairs real-time visibility into their conference; and that makes the author experience clear, transparent, and frustration-free. PaperNest is that platform.
It is free to use. It will always be free to use. And your data will always be yours to export, in full, on demand — regardless of your account status or subscription tier.
Conference Management
BRAINCON is PaperNest's conference management product, open to any AI research conference in India. No BRAIN Foundation membership is required to browse conferences or list your event. Program Chairs get a full suite of tools: submission collection, reviewer assignment, phase management, programme building, and decision release — all with real-time dashboards and no data lockouts.
Listing is subject to admin review and approval to ensure quality. Once approved, your conference is live and ready to accept submissions immediately.
Get Started with BRAINCONJournal Publishing
TRAIN (Transactions in BRAIN) is the official peer-reviewed journal of the BRAIN Foundation. It publishes original research in all areas of artificial intelligence with a focus on India's contribution to the global research ecosystem. Access is restricted to verified BRAIN Foundation community members — editorial board, reviewers, and authors submitting to the journal.
To become a BRAIN Foundation member and gain access to TRAIN, visit the BRAIN Foundation website. Membership is open to AI researchers, academics, and practitioners based in India.
