Acceptable Use & Code of Conduct

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Shared expectations for authors, reviewers, editors, organizers, administrators, and conference participants.

Respectful participation

Treat participants professionally regardless of background, institution, career stage, disability, or personal characteristics. Harassment, discrimination, threats, coercion, and abusive messages are not acceptable. Critique research constructively rather than attacking the researcher. Event-specific conduct rules may add requirements for in-person and online participation.

Research integrity

Do not submit plagiarised, fabricated, falsified, or knowingly misleading work. Do not misrepresent authorship, affiliations, conflicts, reviewer expertise, approvals, or publication status. Provide truthful declarations and cooperate with legitimate editorial clarification requests.

Authorized use

Use only the accounts, venues, manuscripts, and actions you are authorized to access. Do not impersonate a participant, bypass role restrictions, manipulate decisions, forge registrations or payments, or attempt to obtain confidential reviewer information.

Platform protection

Do not upload malware, compromise accounts, scrape private research, send unsolicited bulk messages, flood the service, or interfere with its operation. Automated access beyond normal workflows requires agreement with the responsible organization. Report suspected vulnerabilities through the security channel.

Confidentiality and AI tools

Do not share unpublished submissions, confidential reviews, or private personal information outside the authorized process. Do not upload another person’s unpublished work to external AI or analysis services without the required authorization. Assistive outputs do not excuse inaccurate research claims or inappropriate disclosure.

Reporting concerns

For platform abuse, contact support with the relevant page, venue, approximate time, and a concise description. For research-integrity concerns or editorial disputes, follow Publishing Ethics & Appeals. Use Security Reporting for suspected unauthorized access. For immediate physical danger at an event, contact the organizer or local emergency services.

Handling reports

The responsible team may review evidence, ask for clarification, restrict access, remove inappropriate content, or escalate to the venue or institution. Reports should be made in good faith; retaliation against people raising concerns is unacceptable. Share information only with those needed to investigate, and contact support if you believe an action is mistaken.
